Excellent option for the photographer, hobbyist or pro
I recently had the opportunity to review the USB 3.0 SD Card Reader, a device that’s quickly become an essential tool in my photography kit. As someone relatively new to the world of photography, I’ve found that the quality of accessories can significantly impact my experience, and this card reader is a standout for several reasons.Firstly, the build quality of this 2-slot memory card reader is exceptional. Unlike many card readers that have a flimsy feel, this one exudes professionalism both in its appearance and its construction. It’s reassuring to handle a product that feels robust and well-crafted, especially when you’re handling delicate items like SDXC/SDHC/UHS-I SD Cards and TF/Micro SD Cards. The built-in Micro SD card cap is a thoughtful addition that enhances the usability of the reader. This feature not only adds to the overall sleek design but also provides an extra layer of protection for your memory cards. It’s small details like these that can be especially appreciated by those who are new to a hobby and are still familiarizing themselves with the equipment. In terms of performance, the USB 3.0 interface ensures fast and efficient data transfer, which is crucial when you’re eager to edit and view your photographs. The reader’s compatibility with a wide range of card formats makes it incredibly versatile and a valuable addition to any photographer’s gear.Overall, it strikes the perfect balance between aesthetic appeal, solid build quality, and functional excellence. For fellow photographers, whether seasoned or just starting out, I would highly recommend this card reader as a reliable and professional-grade tool. Its durability and performance make it a worthy investment, particularly for those who value the finer details in their photography equipmen

Makes Watching Footage Taken on Cam Easy To Watch
I attend vintage race events regularly and it’s sometimes difficult to show video to people without having an interface, cables, etc. to hook up to a camera. With this card reader, it’s pretty much plug and play. I can pull the card out of the camera, slip this reader into a USB slot and install the card and then take advantage of having a larger screen to review the video we shot.Haven’t had any issues with it yet and it’s small enough to just keep in the side pocket of my computer sleeve for when I need it.Works on the storage discs I use, which you want to double check on before you buy.

Excellent card reader
This is one my favorite card readers. It comes with a cap that is attached. That to me is an excellent idea. I’m constantly losing the caps that aren’t attached. The read write speeds on this adapter are up to par with other high quality USB flash drives. 100% recommended.

Rocketek USB 3.0 SD card reader is a wonderful computer accessory!
The Rocketek USB 3.0 SD card reader is a wonderful accessory that I have added to my computer accessory collection in order to create more versatility for my computer. When I take photos on my digital camera, I can easily transfer them to my Windows based computer for photo editing or electronic storage via the Rocketek USB 3.0 SD card reader. This card reader looks just like a traditional thumb drive, but it actually has two built in slots, one to accommodate a standard SD electronic card and another slot to handle the much smaller, micro-SD card. Once plugged into the computer, a small LED (Light Emitting Diode) lights up to indicate that the card reader is connected to the computer. It comes with free technical support, which is handy for me, and it comes with a 2-year product warranty. Great little accessory! By the way, the Amazon product text is slightly incorrect as it does not come with a USB 3.0 cable and it is not needed.

Great adapter for items that don’t have built-in card slots
While some computers do have card readers built in, others do not. In the case of the latter, this adapter is great for being able to transfer files from SDXC/SDHC/UHS-I SD Cards and/or TF/Micro SD Cards. This unit comes with a handy swiveling “cap” to keep the USB plug from being damaged while not in use. The USB 3.0 speed allows for much faster data transfer than the old USB 2.0 hardware, which is extremely beneficial, especially when transferring lager data files.I do a lot of work with 3D Printers and Laser Engravers which both use wither SD or TF/Micro SD Cards, so I transfer a lot of files from my computer to the other units. Since my shop computer does not have the card readers built in, this unit is an absolute necessity. Excellent value!

Swiss knife of card readers
Hunting for card readers on the go is the biggest pain. I’ve gone to a local drug store to buy a very expensive SD card just for it’s card reader, figuring I can always another SD card. This is compatible with a plethora of sizes and formats so very handy to have while traveling to be able to interact with the data (photos, videos, documents etc) and only having to carry one reader. My only gripe is the slot for the micro cards is a bit unweildy for my tastes but it doesn’t affect functionality just really preference.

Reads and writes as fast as my TF cards can work
My TF cards are not the fastest available, but they do require USB 3.0 throughput to reach their max performance. This card reader handled their max performance (90 MB/s) easily. I put a TF card into an SD adapter and stuck that into the SD slot and stuck another TF card into the TF slot. Then I copied about 1 GB of various files from one to the other — this worked well and worked fast.I recommend this TF/SD card reader. There are many to choose from but a lot of them can not handle USB 3.0 speeds even if they are alleged to be USB 3.0 readers. This one does.

Odd behavior, OK speeds, goofy design.
I was looking for a reader that would outperform the internal reader on my laptop; and an existing USB 3.0 reader I have from Transcend: this wasn’t it. It seemed to reset my USB 3.0 hub whether it was powered or not, killing a transfer from another reader I had going already. It did this every time I plugged it in, while testing- over 5 times.. Once plugged in, the reader could only transfer 42M. Took the hub out of the equation; plugged directly into my laptop (after I unplugged my audio and display port cables, as the adapter blocks the audio port, and if using the micro sd slot, the cover obscures the other ports)- still just 42 MB/sec. Reader was very warm to the touch at this point. Swapped the card into my Transcend TS-RDF5W USB 3.0 reader and got 92 MB/sec no problem; over twice as fast. Card was a Samsung 512GB EVO Select with 60GB of video and images on it. Don’t need the frustration when performing a simple action like copying files.. look elsewhere.Edit: I was able to get ~90 MB/sec out of this reader after another try.. so I’ll bump it up one star; but it’s still less than ideal, I’ll probably throw it in my camera bag as an emergency option.

This belongs in your accessory case
This is a compact reader adapter. It has a large flip open cover that protects the USB A plug. At one end there’s a flip top that covers the micro SD card slot. The full size SD card slot is on the edge of the stick. It’s uncovered. As far as durability, I feel it’s good if used occasionally, or if it’s plugged in as a semipermanent reader adapter to a device. Though the USB A plug and the micro SD card slot are covered, the large SD card slot isn’t. It may be subject to debris clogging it up. It is fully functional. For its prive, it’s a good deal.

Easy to use
I am not the most computer savvy person, but the Rocketek USB 3.0 Card Reader has been super easy and convenient to use. My security camera started to charge for cloud storage, so I use a card and the reader when I need to review anything. It is really fast and allows me to keep anything I need on my computer. It also has two slots, so I often download any phone pictures as well. Great buy.
